SIGNALS

I have developed a wireless signal system used at Castledare Miniature Railways W.A. Inc located along the Canning river. Wilson, Perth, Western Australia. www.castledare.com.au

I have listed some of the details below. The signal, point system and SCADA, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition. Or for those not use to these terms it is a Computer based automatic control system usually connected to a PLC Programmable Logic Controller.
Please email me if you require more  information.

Search Light signal with 2 white feathers (direction indication for 3 roads) all 3 aspects (Red Yellow & Green), Stirrup & speer for easy ground mounting, Long 7 core lead & plug for connection to point motors & 12 V battery. Atmel (Arduno type) MCU for control via a 433 mHz wireless modem link (19200 baud). Ultra sonic train detection non point control signal requires no track side connections.

Internal view of Atmel MCU control showing ultra sonic detectors to the right. Aduino Uno can be used with ultra sonic detection boards and can be connected to the 433 mHz modem mounted above the signal Head at the top of the mast. All our signals are modeled at ¼ full size for better visibility when compared with a true scale model.

Our new style 12 V LED insert for search light signals. Each aspect now has 6 LED's. The old ones had 3 LED's.

Battery we use to power the signals.

This is one of our pneumatically operated 24 VDC lower quadrant semaphore signals with LED lights.

Koyo Click PLC in Niana North Signal Box.                                                Blue box manual control & computer control.
Mounted in cupboards under the benches. The ladder
logic is free Windows based software.

Niana North SCADA control, all running on Ubuntu and developed with Gambas 3 (all free-ware). This is all open source free software on Linux.

SCADA package has full data & service logging.                                             Niana South SCADA developed using VB.net.
Soon to be on Linux (no Windows hooray).

Internet access antennas shown above the door.                                           to be removed and replace by the cabinet at the
Internet access point is about 60 m from here &                                           right allowing full control from Niana North.
Canning Signal Box is about 150 m away, it is
connected by a 433 mHz wireless modem link.

In the event of a power failure the air can be doped from the system and the points can be kicked over manually. The signals can be operated from a 24 V battery supply using two of our small 12V batteries.

LATEST NEWS

I have Raspberry Pi B+ USB memory stick and SD card images available for download or I can supply the images mounted on 8 GB memory stick and a small SD card.

The image has lots of goodies, Gambas3 with lots of example apps, VncServer, Nautilus and lots more.

Both of these are subject to a modest handling charge and are also subject to post and packing cost.

Email for downloads, prices, shipping details or more information.
