13 HP petrol electric 7 1/4" CO CO locomotive.
4401 has six 400 watt permanent magnet traction
motors.
three groups of two on the rear bogie to an 11:1 5/8" chain
drive to the wheels.
Mid
2009 I was offered Ron Davies NSWGR 44 class locomotive as an
unfinished project.
I purchased the bits and took them home.
4401 at Castledare Miniature Railway, Bullfrog siding mid 2012. Full size 4490 in service on the NSW network.
4401
was one of one hundred of it's class produced by A.E. Goodwin
Limited, Goodwin Alco Sydney NSW.
Production started in 1957 and a small number of units are in
service today.
This
miniature versions of 4401 usually resides at Castledare Miniature
Railway Perth Western Australia.
4401 has attended events in Melbourne and Adelaide at the DVR 50th
birthday and the AALS Easter Convention.
